great amenities but lackluster shower pressure
The common room was good for relaxation after a long day. I appreciated the breakfast options, particularly the cooked-to-order omelets and eggs that were a nice touch. The room was comfortable and spacious.
The shower water pressure could be improved, a disappointment.

My room with spa bath was nicely decorated. A microwave oven, an air conditioning, and an iron were appreciated. The location of the hotel was excellent - around 10-15 minutes walk from Slipstream Sculpture. There was an excellent restaurant, boutiques and shops next door.

Unfortunately the Inn is under renovations. We never had heat in our room on Friday evening and due to the storm on Saturday, no heat again due to power outage throughout Litchfield. The renovated pub was lovely and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and very professional. Welcoming atmosphere. The location of the Inn is perfect for a visit to the country in the autumn.
Although the Inn is under revocations, the bedrooms are tired and need decorating desperately. Heating system did not work thoughout the Inn before the Saturday storm and our rooms were constantly cold The staff at the reception area was young, lacking in knowledge of local events, restaurants & places to visit.

The rooms need look a little tired. Reserved 2 rooms with king beds and got one king, one small queen. Need more servers for breakfast. Butter and jelly not brought until requested and I was finished when it came.

Character hotel, different from hotel chains
The hotel was being renovated. The restaurant was closed and only continental breakfast was offered. There was noise disruption and smell of paint. We were not advised of this before we arrived and no apology or explanation was offered on arrival. We feel this is very deceptive, we would have stayed somewhere else if we had realised there was no dinner availble. Breakfast on paper plates was offensive.

It was in pretty setting.
Terrible! In the middle of renovation. They shouldn't have been open until they have finished renovating. No services provided. No electric outlet in bath room working--had to crawl under bed to find a extension cord to use hair drier. It was the most expensive hotel we have stayed in on our trip and by far the worst!

Quiet location - just walking distance from everywhere we needed. Plus, it was near central Connecticut in August and restaurant and bar and the Mountain. We got room with elegant decor and a large bathroom to relax.

The Inn has potential because of its location and the paucity of reasonably priced rooms in the area.
The Inn is reportedly undergoing renovations and so I hope that my room was representative of what needs a thorough updating. The Standard room, showing and smelling its age, was large enough by ny standards; the bathroom was miniscule. To reach my room at the back of the Inn, I had to pass two open, dreary janitorial rooms. I would recommend this Inn with caveats. Go for price and convenience, not pleasure.

A spacious King Room provided a peaceful retreat, complete with beautiful decor and a cozy ambiance from the fireplaces. The multiple hangout areas were great for family time, and the outdoor fire pit was a highlight. Delicious breakfast options set us up perfectly for our days of exploration near restaurants and shopping. The room's TV was a bit basic, and although the staff was generally helpful, a few requests for extra amenities took longer than expected.

Room was large and beautifully designed and clean.
Great choice for trip. Right place for 1 night with decent and efficient staff with my management and staff. Central heating, multi-channel TV and a refrigerator in the room, stunning location.

Do recommend for a walk in evening
Beautiful hotel, clean room, with a wonderful omelette station for breakfast, made our stay good, and we also enjoyed the cozy outdoor fire pit area with the best chocolate chip cookies ever.

Charming Room with a Cozy Atmosphere
The breakfast was a highlight, with made-to-order omelets and fresh pastries that was awesome. The relaxing areas, especially the fire pit outside, made for a picturesque evening hangout. One minor issue was the shower water pressure, which could be improved.

missingWrote a review on 29 Augfriendly staffyummy breakfastpoor water pressurecommon area
The Inn provided a homely atmosphere with beautiful decor and very clean spaces. I loved the outdoor fire pits and the lovely yard where we spent time playing lawn games. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight with made-to-order omelettes and a good variety of baked goods. I enjoyed the fresh, local ingredients in the meals. I noticed that the carpet in the common areas needed a deep clean. The bathroom in my room could have used some remodeling too, especially the shower that didn't have great water pressure. Although the staff was friendly, a few seemed a bit inexperienced at the front desk. Small details like dirty windows and the dining room feeling like a fast-food chain during breakfast need addressing to elevate the experience.
